Are you a Windows XP user and now planning to install Windows 7 operating
system? Well, if your answer is yes, you have several ways to do it. In this
article we will discuss on how to install Windows 7 from USB. The first thing
you need to do to install Windows 7 operating system on your computer is
purchase the software. From the Microsoft online store you can either download
an ISO file, or a collection of compressed files. You can also get Windows
Support from a remote computer repair company.
You probably know that an ISO file is an archive file of an optical disc and
it comprises all the information of files in an uncompressed format. After
downloading the ISO file onto the media, it is required to run a tool called as
Windows 7 USB/DVD download tool. This will then allow you to install Windows 7
from USB. To install Windows 7 from USB you need to copy the downloaded ISO
file onto the USB flash drive.
The USB device needs to be bootable for installing Windows 7 from USB. For
this, you need to run a bootsect.exe tool and use the Windows 7 USB/Download
tool. If you have a bootable device, it means you don't need to run the OS that
already exists on your computer and it allows you to directly install Windows 7
operating system from USB. So, booting windows 7 from USB saves a lot of time
and effort. The USB device should be of at least 4 GB capacity to run the installation
of the OS.
Now, we will discuss on how to install Windows 7 from USB. You should note
that there are certain Windows 7 system requirements. There should be a Pentium
processor with a speed of 233 MHz or faster. For installing Windows 7 from USB,
you need to run the Windows 7 USB/DVD download tool. But prior to running the
tool, you should make sure that you download the ISO file for Windows 7 on the
hard drive.
Click to open the installation file and then select the option for run. You
also need to follow the instructions as they appear and state where you want to
install the file. For installing the Windows 7 ISO file, create a copy of the
same on the USB file. You need to follow some instructions in this regard.
First, click the start button and open the Windows 7 USB/DVD download tool.
Then in the source file name box type the path and name under which you have
saved the Windows 7 ISO file. After selecting the file click on next and select
the USB device. To copy the ISO file into the flash drive, click on begin
copying. Now open your USB drive and double click on the Setup file that is
having the extension.exe to start Windows 7 installation.
